古跡・旧跡

【本丸跡】- Honmaru ato ( ato means ruin ) -

唐澤山神社に藤原秀郷公が祀ってあり、こけむす石垣は当時のままである。 Historic remains of the Donjon.Shinto shrine Karasawayama Jinjya in which Lord Fujiwara Hidesato is enshrined stands at this spot.The moss-covered stone walls remain as they were in old days.

【二の丸跡】- Ninomaru ato -

奥御殿直番の詰所のあったところである。 The spot where a guardhouse for the Inner Palace was located.

【三の丸跡】- Sannomaru ato -

賓客の応接間のあったところで、外来の客をここでもてなした。 Here was a guest house in which the visiting guests were received and entertained.

【表御殿跡】- Omote Goten ato -

日々の事務、指揮采配をとった正庁のあったところ。 Here was a headquarters office where command was taken and daily works were done.

【南城跡】- Nanjyo ato -

南城のあったところで、現在の建物は東明会の寄進による。明治二七年大正天皇(皇太子の時)行啓の栄によくした。 Nanjyo,the south castle was here.Present building was donated by Tomeikai and was honored by a visit ,in the 27th year of Meiji (1894),of Emperor Taisho,as the Crown Prince.

【物見櫓跡】- Monomiyagura ato -

南城下の台地で当時物見台があり、入り組んだ谷間も良く見えるようになっていた。 It is a small tableland located beneath Nanjyo. Here was once a watchtower that commanded the view of the intricate valleys.

【帯 廓】- Obi Kuruwa -

敵を防いだ当時最大の防禦地であった。 Here was the strongest line of defenses.

【さくらの馬場】- Sakura-no-baba -

武士が馬を訓練したところで、さくらが多いのでこの名がある。 A riding ground for the training of horse back riding of the worriors.It has this name because there were many cherry(sakura) trees.

【四つ目堀】- Yotsumebori -

神橋の下の堀をいう。水のない(から堀)で当時はもっと深かったとおもわれる。なお神橋も当時は外敵にそなえ使わない時は引き上げてしまう曳橋であった。 A moat under the Shinkyo,the Sacred Bridge.It is a dry moat,but it is considered to be a deeper one in old days.Also,the Shinkyo could be retractable when out of use,for the defense agaist the enemy.

【大炊井】- Ooi-no-i -

築城のさい、厳島大明神に祈願をし、その霊夢により掘ると水がこんこんとわき出たとの事である。深さ九米、直径八米あり、今日まで水がかれたことはない。 At the time of construction of the castle,as a result of prayer to the God of Itsukushima Daimyojin,a well was dug at this spot according to the spiritual dream, and water gushed up. The depth is 9m and the diameter is 8m and the well has never dried up.

【車井戸】- Kuruma Ido -

当時茶の湯に使用された井戸で、がんがん井戸ともいわれ、深さ二五米余あり龍宮迄つづくとも言われている。 The water from this well was used for the tea ceremony.The well was also called Gan-Gan Ido,is over 25m deep, was said to reach Ryugu,the Dragon’s Palace.

【避来矢山】- Hiraishiyama -

公が百足を退治した時、龍神より贈られた鎧にその名を発しており、現在は唐澤山神社に功績のあった人々を祀る避来矢山霊廟が山頂にある。 The name is from the armor given by the dragon God when the lord killed the centipede.At present,on the top,there is a mausoleum for the people of distinguished services for the Shinto shrine Karasawayama Jinjya.

【ます形】- Masugata -

城門のあったところで、くいちがいともいわれる。 Here was the Gate of the castle,also this place is called “kuichigai”.

【金の丸】- Kin-no-maru -

当時金蔵のあったところで、現在は金の丸ロッジとして唐沢子供会の教育の場となっている。 In old days,here stood a treasurehouse.At present,there is a Kin-no-maru lodge for the training and education of Karasawa Kodomokai (a children association).

【北城跡】- Hokujo ato -

当時姫御殿のあったところ。 Here was a palace for princesses.

【天狗岩】- Tenguiwa -

物見櫓のあったところで、南面に出た岩がちょうど天狗の鼻の様であったためこの名がある。 Here was once a watchtower.There is a rock projecting to the south which looks like a nose of Tengu,a long-nosed goblin.
